Piazza del Duomo is the natural starting point for discovering Pistoia. This wide medieval square gathers many of the city’s most important monuments in one place: the Cathedral of San Zeno, the bell tower, the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Corte, the Palazzo Comunale and the Palazzo dei Vescovi.

For visitors, it is one of the best places to understand the character of Pistoia: elegant, compact and rich in history, but still lively and authentic. Take time to look around the square slowly, because every side reveals a different layer of the city’s civic and religious past.
